Kanisha Wint, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant seeing patients at Avance Psychiatry and Pain Management in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
She earned her Bachelor of Science from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, and went on to complete her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Indiana State University.
Kanisha developed a passion for Psychiatry during her clinical rotations in graduate school, but she has always been interested in mental health. She was a founding member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) chapter at her university. Before joining Avance, Kanisha worked in a psychiatric emergency department, where she often served as the first point of contact for patients experiencing mental health crises. Many of these patients had chronic pain along with co-existing psychiatric conditions. Kanisha is dedicated to addressing the unique needs of her patients and ensuring they are actively involved in their care plans.
In her free time, Kanisha enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, reading, and exploring different parts of North Carolina.
